- Mage Schools: Elemental, Primal, Spirit, Arcane, Creation, Entropy,
- Warrior Talents: Battlemaster, Defender, Two-Handed, Vanguard, Warmonger, Weapon & Shield
- Rogue Talents: Archery, Dual Weapon, Sabotage, Scoundrel, Specialist, Subterfuge

- All warriors start with Intermediate Familiarity in either: Weapon & Shield or Two-Handed, and Basic Familiarity in one other talent.
- All rogues start with Intermediate Familiarity in either: Archery or Dual Weapons. And Basic Familiarity in one other talent.
- All mages start with Intermediate Familiarity in one school and Basic Familiarity in another school.

*Canon Characters who are also a Companion in DA2 do not have a choice for their second talent. In addition to their Intermediate Familiarty, their starting Basic Familiarity will always be whatever talent tree pertains to them (For example, Fenris will always start with Basic Familiarity in Tevinter Fugitive.

- Additional talents/schools, or an upgrade in Familiarity, can be bought. Unlock Talent with Basic Familiarity (200G), from Basic to Intermediate Familiarity (300G), from Intermediate to Advanced Familiarity (500G), from Advanced to Mastery (750G).

- All characters start "Talented" in one specialization.
- A second specialization can be bought with 500G, or automatically earned once a character reaches 100 posts.
- A third specialization can be bought with 750G, or automatically earned once a character reaches 200 posts.
- Upgrades to a character's level of skill in their specialization can be bought. From Rookie to Talented (300G), from Talented to Advanced (500G), from Advanced to Master (750G).
